Valerie

Twenty years as the go-between for brands and Hollywood, across sports, entertainment, music and consumer products.

20 years of experience leading teams across every marketing vertical

Valerie has spent more than 20 years working where celebrity culture, premium consumer brands and Hollywood meet, building brands and brokering the partnerships between them.

She began her career as an international model in New York, Paris, Milan and Tokyo. The relationships she formed across fashion, hospitality and entertainment in those years have informed her work ever since.

She founded City Publicity, a Los Angeles public relations and experiential marketing firm representing celebrities, athletes and brands. Over the next decade the firm created the Polaroid Malibu Beach House, which brought premium brands, A-list talent and the press together in a lifestyle setting and is widely regarded as an early blueprint for influencer marketing. It also led the UFC’s first marketing initiative aimed at women, and produced Danny Way’s jump over the Great Wall of China, working with the Chinese government, the international press and a roster of global brand partners.

She went on to build the first in-house PR department at Harbor Picture Company, the New York film and television post-production house, ahead of its merger with a larger media company. She later led communications and a full rebrand in private health care.

She has since worked as an executive producer on documentary and non-scripted projects, managing international budgets and partnerships with studios, networks and streamers. She also leads business affairs at Fuzzy Technologies, a venture-backed identity-verification startup, where she led brand strategy, launched the company’s podcast and built partnerships with talent and sports agencies that led to pilots with more than 300 professional athletes.

Her clients and partners have included Sony, WME, the UFC, Relativity Media, Interscope Records, ESPN’s X Games, Red Bull, Amazon and Polaroid. She has been profiled in Businessweek, Us Weekly, People, the New York Post and the Associated Press.
